BIOSONATOR compact (Biogas plants)

Features state-of-the-art, integrated high-performance ultrasonic technology, the BIOSONATOR compact is an efficient and compact all-in-one system for breaking down biomass at biogas plants—even with difficult substrates.

We have further improved our high-performance ultrasonic technology and are now able to offer our customers a more efficient unit:
The BIOSONATOR compact is our new turnkey system consisting of a modular high-performance ultrasonic system, an upstream wet grinder, and an eccentric screw pump, as well as intelligent control and automation technology with remote maintenance.
As a plug-and-play system, the BIOSONATOR compact can be easily and quickly integrated into existing biogas plants.

What types of systems are suitable?

Biogas plants starting at 300 kW

With the new Kofermenteranlagen BIOSONATOR compact, we have succeeded in reducing investment costs by 25–30%.

As a result, the BIOSONATOR compact is now also a cost-effective option for small biogas plants starting at 300 kW.

Plants that use renewable raw materials, including alternative fibrous substrates

This technology is particularly well-suited for biogas plants that use hard-to-digest, fibrous, and coarse substrates (e.g., grass, manure, etc.).
This makes them independent of easily fermentable and expensive high-quality substrates (e.g., corn).

Co-fermentation plants

Co-digestion plants also offer significant potential for improving plant efficiency.

Plants with a dry matter content of up to 15%

Hard cavitation can be used to disintegrate organic substances that are difficult to break down, provided they have a dry matter content of no more than 15%.

Mesophilic or thermophilic systems

Whether a biogas plant operates under mesophilic (37 to 42 °C) or thermophilic (50 to 57 °C) conditions,
our high-performance ultrasonic technology can be successfully used in both cases.

Plants switching to alternative substrates
By replacing expensive substrates with ultrasonically treated, more inexpensive substrates or agricultural byproducts,

the substrate costs of the biogas plant can be significantly reduced.

Improved plant efficiency with powerful ultrasound

In practice, it has proven effective to draw a portion of the effluent from the secondary digester, treat it with ultrasound

and return it to the fermenter or to multiple fermenters.
Other installation methods are also possible and should be determined on a case-by-case basis for each biogas plant.
